I’m being bullied by a bunch of exhausted, style-free women in their thirties. Some would be shocked that this demographic actually has bullies but I’m here to let you know they’re out there, lurking behind minivans. I’ve been in this mom group for three years now but there’s a crack in our foundation. Our leader is stepping down but no one is willing to fill her comfortable running shoes. The emails have been going back and forth about how “someone” needs to take charge. “The moms with two kids are way too busy.” Now normally, that statement wouldn’t bother me but I am the only mother with one kid so basically they’re talking about me. I know there’s been some talk but I’m ignoring it. I’ve told them no but they can’t accept that. They’re sure there’s some wiggle room but there’s not. One thing I’m good about is saying no, reputation or not, my sanity’s on the line.
